The platform

Commerce first. Not a brochure site with a basket added.

Shopify is one of the world’s leading commerce platforms because the storefront, product catalogue, checkout, payments, orders, customer accounts, discounts and reporting are designed to work together. Your business receives its own Shopify account and pays Shopify directly. The project fee covers the strategy, design, development and launch work agreed in your proposal.

Built for transactions

Product discovery, clear product pages, secure checkout routes and mobile purchasing are treated as the core of the website.

Ready to operate

Products, collections, delivery rules, payments, essential policies, analytics and staff handover are configured for launch.

Able to grow

Start with a focused catalogue, then add markets, subscriptions, retail locations, wholesale customers or carefully selected apps.

Who Shopify is for

For businesses with something real to sell.

Shopify is appropriate when online transactions are central to the business—not when a normal service website would do the job better.

Product brands

Food and drink, skincare, fashion, homeware, jewellery, art, books, sports, outdoor and lifestyle products.

Existing retailers

Independent shops and multi-location retailers adding online sales, click and collect or unified stock.

Makers and producers

Cornish and UK manufacturers, farms, breweries, studios and producers ready to sell beyond their immediate area.

Digital and subscription businesses

Digital products, memberships, repeat-purchase products and subscriptions where the chosen apps and fulfilment model have been confirmed.

Wholesale suppliers

Businesses supplying hotels, restaurants, retailers, salons, trades or other commercial buyers.

Creators with products

Authors, artists, educators and established audiences selling owned products. A pure affiliate-content website may be better served by another platform.

Specialist services

Sell online, in person and wholesale.

Shopify POS

Connect physical retail with the online store so products, orders, customers and stock can be managed through one commerce platform.

Shopify B2B and Wholesale

Create trade purchasing routes with company accounts, assigned catalogues, wholesale pricing, quantity rules and payment terms where supported.

04

Test and launch

Orders, payments, delivery, mobile layouts, emails and analytics are checked before launch.

Preparing your material

What you provide for product upload.

You do not need to know how Shopify works. You do need to provide accurate commercial information. A structured product spreadsheet and image folder will be issued at the beginning of the project.

Product information

  • Product name and clear description
  • Price and VAT status
  • SKU, barcode and stock quantity
  • Options such as size, colour or format
  • Weight and parcel dimensions
  • Collections, tags and search terms

Business information

  • Company, contact and bank details
  • Delivery services and prices
  • Returns, privacy and trading policies
  • Product photography and brand assets
  • Tax and regulatory information
  • Access to domain and existing systems

You remain responsible for product accuracy, legal claims, tax decisions, stock, fulfilment and customer service. We structure and implement the approved information; your accountant, solicitor or compliance adviser confirms regulated details.

Questions answered

Before you commission a store.

Do I own the Shopify store?

Yes. The live store is held in your Shopify account. You pay Shopify and any selected app providers directly. Access is granted for development and can be controlled or removed by the store owner.

Is Shopify only for physical products?

No. It can support physical goods, digital products, subscriptions, bookings and other models through native features or carefully selected apps. The business model is checked before the scope is agreed.

Can Shopify run an affiliate programme?

Yes, affiliate and referral programmes can be added through suitable apps or integrations. If the website exists only to send visitors to other companies through affiliate links, Shopify may not be the best platform.

Are transaction fees included in the build price?

No. Shopify subscription charges, payment-processing fees, app subscriptions, domains, hardware, advertising and third-party services are client costs unless a written proposal explicitly states otherwise.

Will you upload every product?

The proposal states the included product quantity. Larger catalogues are imported from approved structured data, quoted separately or uploaded by the client after training.
